About me
and the show
My name is Aurea Bolaños Perea, and I launched Guerreras back in 2018 when I was starting my graduate studies in Political Science and was looking for a community to talk about Latinas in politics, abortion rights, especially centering the voices of Latinas in the intersection of reproductive justice ad policymaking. You probably guessed it, there was no such thing nor such space – so I had to create it! Since then, this podcast has served to discuss topics such as the Latine identity, reproductive rights, the power of the Latine vote and voice, and so much more!

This is one of my favorite podcasts and have listened to it since day 1! I have learned so much about feminism, chicana power, and what it means to be an ally for Latinas in this moment.

This is one of those podcasts that I wish I could have had when I was learning to be an activist! Guerreras is insightful and funny at the same time. I learn so much every time I play an episode, and feel less alone when I think maybe I’m the only one that cares about certain issues.
